Dr Mark Williams

BSci, BDent, GradDipClinDent

Dr Mark Williams grew up in Sydney and Newcastle and completed a Bachelor of Neuroscience in 2003 and a Bachelor of Dentistry in 2006 at the University of Sydney. Even as a child, Mark always knew he wanted to be a dentist and once qualified his passion for dentistry has only increased.

Since graduating Mark has worked in both general and specialist practices throughout Newcastle and Sydney, honing his skills and experience. In 2012 Mark returned to the University of Sydney, completing a Graduate Diploma of Clinical Dentistry in Children’s Dentistry, whilst working as a Registrar at the Sydney Dental Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Mark has held clinical roles as a tutor at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health in Paediatric Dentistry and as a researcher into Obstructive Sleep Apnoea at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. Mark continues to attend both local and international courses and conferences to provide the latest techniques and treatments to each patient.

Anyone visiting Mark will find he is a very compassionate dentist in Newcastle who genuinely enjoys helping children and adults achieve healthy and beautiful smiles within a caring and comfortable environment. He particularly likes treating children and families and is always happy to answer any questions about dental health matters. Mark is especially gentle when treating anyone who feels a little nervous and takes the time to put anxious patients at ease.

After permanently moving to Newcastle in 2012, Mark has begun a family and has devoted time, energy and resources to build up Newcastle City Dental into a modern, well-equipped family-oriented practice. Believing strongly in the local community he is involved with fundraising for hospitals and other charities. He also educates students and teachers at local schools and medical professionals on updated dental topics. Outside of work, Mark loves spending time with his wife and two young children, and enjoys a surf and a good meal when time permits.
